THE Sussex Express has published photos, and will continue to do so, comparing street scenes today with those taken in the 19th century by Victorian photographer Sir Edwin Isaac Baker in our ‘Then and Now’ series.
Now there is another chance to see a fascinating exhibition of Baker’s work hosted by Hailsham Historical Society, Hailsham Photographic Society, East Sussex Library Services and Hailsham In Bloom. The free-of-charge exhibition runs from 2pm to 4pm at the former chiropractic clinic, 2-4 North Street, from July 16 to July 21.
Maxine Kitcher, secretary of the historical society, said: “When we show any historical photos of Hailsham, it is always very popular. I hope the public will go along, taking advantage of this great opportunity.”
Look out for more ‘Then and Now’ photos in the Express.
