Young people from Hailsham have enjoyed their Summer break.

YOUNGSTERS have enjoyed a wide range of fun activities with the Square Youth Café in Hailsham this Summer.

The café, based in Market Square, organised outings with the help of businesses and youth organisations in the county.

Youth aged 11 to 17 enjoyed T-shirt printing, pizza making, horse riding and horse grooming, a Fear Factor night with reptiles and creepy-crawlies, and fun and games for three consecutive days for the PGL scheme.

Andy Joyes, youth project co-ordinator, said: “We wanted this summer to be productive and entertaining for young people and, without these activities, many of them would have very little to do during the long summer holidays.

“I know that those who attended the various outings and events organised by the Square Youth Café enjoyed them tremendously and all outings were attended by staff members to ensure their safety and well-being at all times.”

Town Cllr Dawn Ryan said: “The council is pleased to have offered something for everyone during the summer holidays at the Square Youth Café, the wide range of popular activities fulfilling our aim to improve the life chances of young people in our town.”
