Four Hailsham youths have been arrested and remanded in custody after a ‘nasty and unprovoked attack’ in Eastbourne.

Shortly after 9pm on Thursday, October 8, police were called to Hartfield Park, where three Polish men - two aged 20 and one aged 24 - had been attacked by a large group of youths.

The men had cash and mobile phones stolen from them and one of the victims had stitches to a head wound.

Detective Sergeant Bonnie Cowley, of Eastbourne CID, said: “This was a nasty and unprovoked attack, carried out after dark, and we would like to hear from anyone who was in the area and who may have noticed anything suspicious.”

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have other information about the incident is asked to email 101@sussex.pnn.police.co.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 1514 of 08/10.

Four youths - two 18-year-olds and two 16-year-olds, all from Hailsham - have been arrested on suspicion of robbery. They are currently in custody while enquiries continue.
