Over 100 hairdressers, salon managers and salon owners attended the event, including industry names such as John Frieda and Lee Stafford. Competitors made their way around the 120 mile course changing frequently from rural mountainous terrain to flat coastal routes and busy road systems; making the route challenging for even experienced cyclists.

Olivia said “the first day was a bit of a shock, we faced a 5km hill sprint straight out of the start line, most of the course felt like we were going uphill, which made the second day tough to even get back on the bikes but seeing the finish line was an amazing feeling”

Olivia and Jody did this partly for the challenge but mainly to help raise funds and awareness for such a fantastic charity.

Jody said: “The weekend was a great success and fantastic fun, sharing the experience with like-minded people was brilliant.”
