Under ‘Megan’s Law’, Pennsylvania State Police keep a register so that the names and addresses of all registered sex offenders are available to the public.

A map has been published online, with markers showing the addresses of convicted sex offenders, with clickable links providing each person’s name and offence.

Horsham, Pennsylvania, has 25 such markers.

Trick or Treaters are advised to avoid those houses and apartments.

‘Megan’s Law’ refers to a legal requirement for sex offenders to register their names and addresses with their local police, and for the list of names and addresses to be available to the public.

The law is named after Megan Kanka, a seven year old New Jersey girl who was raped and murdered by her neighbour, who was a serial sex offender.

What do you think - should the UK register be made public, or would that lead to vigilante attacks, and to sex offenders going into hiding?
