This evening: Thursday, sees the Parish Council meeting after their summer break. The meeting will start at 7.30 pm in the Pavilion and as always there will be an opportunity to ask any questions or raise any concerns you may have regarding items on the agenda early in the meeting. A copy of the agenda should be posted on the notice board outside the Spar Shop and can be found on the Council's website, www.slaughampc.co.uk.

Don’t forget the Charity Race Night: at the Social Club on Saturday evening, starting at 8 pm. The evening is being held to raise funds for Dreams Come True which is children’s charity (reg. charity no. 800248). Owners, trainers and jockeys are available for £2 each and the tote betting will be a £1. There will also be a quiz and music to help things along. I’m sure it will be an enjoyable evening so if you are free, why not go along and support this worthwhile charity.

Handcross Ladies Association: had an interesting talk last week about Volks Railway which runs from the Pier in Brighton to the Marina. It is an enjoyable way to get between the centre of town to the Marina without having to pay too much. It is surprising to see what is going on along the way. The Rosemary Club also had an enjoyable meeting only theirs was an outing to Tilgate Park for afternoon tea. I think the timing was perfect for such an outing as it would appear we are now on the downward slope to autumn after having a long hot summer!
