Happy landing for Eddie the Eagle at Littlehampton Sports Awards

EDDIE ‘The Eagle’ Edwards, British ski-jumping champion and winner of ITV’s diving show Splash. will be host of the Littlehampton Sports Awards, in October.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, September 13 and categories include team, young person and coach of the year, as well as recognition for administrators, lifetime contribution to sport and involvement with disability sport and a new award for the unsung hero.

The overall winner will be the Littlehampton Sportsperson of the Year 2013, succeeding last year’s winner, James Bellward.

Nominations will be considered by a judging panel, with the winners announced at an invitation-only awards ceremony on the October 7 at the Coco Lounge, which is the main sponsor.

Nominations can be made online via www.littlehampton-tc.gov.uk or pick a nomination form from the town council offices at the Manor House, Church Street.

Littlehampton Sports Forum and the town council are the organisers.
