The tribute show is being planned in memory of their friend Matt Bradstock-Smith, who was looked after by St Wilfrid’s in his last days.

Alison Moorey, chief executive at St Wilfrid’s, said: “In recognition of the excellent care that the St Wilfrid’s Hospice team provided to their good friend, Harry Hill and Al Murray have organised a benefit concert in May in aid of the Hospice.

“We are grateful for this most generous opportunity and delighted that it will be a fitting tribute to their friend who is very close to their hearts.

“The funds raised from what promises to be a wonderful night out in London will help us to continue to provide the much needed end of life care services to our local community.”

Matt appeared in many of Harry and Al’s shows in the early days, playing Harry’s son Little Alan Hill in his Channel 4 show.

Harry and Al are being joined by Tim Vine, Stewart Lee, Page Three Stunner Gayle Tuesday, Stouffer the Cat and, for their last outing ever, the legendary Pub Band.

Following his death, Harry and Al were determined to mark it with a special tribute night made up of Matt’s favourite comics and comedy friends.

Harry Hill said: “Matt, as well as being a close friend, was a regular collaborator and in bringing together some of his favourite comedians, we hope to give him an appropriate send off.

“The fact we can support such a wonderful place as St Wilfrid’s, which largely relies on public donations to keep running, is even better.”

This unique performance entitled ‘For Little Alan’ is being held at the Lyric Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue on May 16 at 7.30pm with proceeds going to the Hospice.
