Last year at the Court of Appeal in London, judges ruled that a claim by Manolete Partners plc was valid after Hastings Borough Council tried to appeal against an original ruling at the High Court.

Manolete gained the right to sue after Stylus Sports Ltd, former tenant and operator of a bingo hall and amusement arcade on the pier, went into liquidation in 2012.

The borough council will be at the Supreme Court in London on Thursday (June 23).

Hastings Pier was closed between June and September 2006.

More than 90 per cent of the Victorian attraction was destroyed in a devastating fire in October 2010.

It officially reopened last month.

The borough council used its power under section 78 of the Building Act 1984 to close the pier 10 years ago.
