“All our pupils will benefit greatly from this resource and with the help of staff from Hastings Direct, we are one step closer to making this happen,” she said.

“We’re also looking forward to being able to reward our clients, volunteers and supporters with a much needed celebration event.”

Care for the Carers’ aim is to help recognise and support unpaid carers and raise awareness of the contribution they make to communities across East Sussex.

Relying predominantly on the generosity of the general public, the Beachy Head Chaplaincy team operate a 24 hour service, 365 days a year and use donated funds to supply chaplains with uniforms, supply and run vehicles and provide search and rescue equipment.

“We look forward to fundraising with Hastings Direct and further supporting our dedicated team over the coming year,” a spokesman said.

Helping to give back to the local community, Hastings Direct employees also donate their time in practical ways.

Previously, colleagues have dug gardens, decorated community halls and delivered Christmas presents to those in need.

The company will host and take part in fundraising events and activities throughout 2016 with money raised being distributed among the charity partners.
