Hastings Philharmonic Choir

We are making excellent progress with the wonderful '˜German Requiem' by Brahms; demanding on a number of counts, nor least the German text, but so satisfying as we master the glorious choruses. These will be complemented in performance by lyrical solos. The popularity of this great work has also attracted some experienced singers to join the choir. The Concert on Saturday 14th May at Christ Church, St. Leonards, will include Brahms' '˜Gesang der Parzen' which the choir performed 2 years ago, and the Violin Concerto by Sibelius.

Márcio da Silva, our popular, and now locally based, conductor has recently auditioned all choir members. This is not as fearsome as it may sound. We sang a short, familiar piece in small groups and received invaluable feedback on techniques and ways to improve; so a tailored mini-masterclass from an expert. If you are considering joining the choir this should be an attraction and not a barrier.

The choir is very friendly and welcomes new members. We meet at the Tabernacle in Cambridge Road, at 7.00p.m. on Wednesdays. For more information about joining call 01424 431442, visit the website at www.hastingsphilchoir.org.uk or just turn up and join in.
