Hastings Pirates on the Pier is a one-stop-shop for all things skull and crossbones to raise money for one of the biggest events in Hastings.

Captain Jack Sparrow came to open the kiosk along with a drumming corps which attracted lots of people eager to support the event, get a last-minute Hallowe’en costume or an early Christmas present.

Owner Sue Jones, who also runs one of the other black huts, The Peer Collection, decided to open it to help Pirate Day organiser Roger Crouch.

People know we’re here now and they know why we are there, we’re not just another shop to earn money, but a shop where all our proceeds go to Hastings Pirate Day which is something everyone in the town likes to take part in,” she said.

“And it helps the organisers of it, mainly Roger Crouch, to get the funds to put that together.”

The stall sells pirate-themed costumes, jewellery, bric-a-brac, accessories and more.

Hastings MP Amber Rudd opened Sue’s first kiosk in June which sells all sorts of handmade goods from mostly local traders and craftsmen doing it as a hobby.

She said it was lovely to hear so many nice comments about the kiosk and hoped it would be well-supported by the town.
