Hayley dances at Paralympics show

A talented local performer was chosen to dance in the Opening Ceremony at the Paralympics in London alongside such stars as Sir Ian McKellen, Professor Stephen Hawking and soul singer Beverly Knight.

Hayley Nobbs, 23, of Broad Oak, Brede is well-known in the Hastings area, having studied singing, dancing and acting at The Hastings Stage Studio for the past 10 years, where she has excelled in her progression through all the advanced grades in tap, jazz and modern dance, and now teaches in those subjects.

Principal Vanessa Pohlhammer commented, “Hayley is a very down-to-earth, hard-working and talented performer who has been great fun to teach.”

Hayley said, “It was an awesome experience every time we set foot on that giant stadium stage, and the atmosphere was incredible. I especially loved meeting some of the amazing athletes who have overcome so much to excel in their chosen sports. It’s something I will never forget as long as I live.”
