Haywards Heath area woman killed in M23 crash

The crash, involved three vehicles,and happened on the southbound carriageway between junctions eight and nine at 4.45pm, close to the Gatwick turn off.

Two drivers involved in the crash were taken to hospital suffering minor injuries.

Police closed the M23 for several hours after the accident.

Surrey Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A police spokeswoman said: "Surrey Police are appealing for information following a collision on the southbound side of the M23 at around 4.45pm this afternoon on Wednesday December 17 in which a driver of one of the vehicles died."

The collision involved a white van with a green Europe car logo on the side and back.

It collided with a black Smart car and a silver Smart car on the southbound carriageway.
