Ruth de Mierre, chairman of Haywards Heath Town Team which organises the Greater Haywards Heath Bike Ride, said: "Mike thanked all those who had supported the event, both our wonderful sponsors, including Jaime Wallden of Mansell McTaggart who was with us, as well as Ian Masters of Masters & Son, Santander and Fairfax.

"I want to say a big thank you to Rod Clark and Savannah’s for looking after all our marshals and helpers and providing hot food and drink for them.

"Together with the amazing town council team and town clerk, Steve Trice, without whom the ride wouldn’t have happened.

"More especially, our grateful thanks to all the marshals, registration team and many many friends who gave up their Sunday to stand in the cold and rain to raise funds for this very special local charity – and have a great deal of fun."
