More than £180 was raised by paracise class participants taking part in Chestnut Tree House’s Reindeer Fun challenge.

Instructor Sadie Southgate recently launched the new paracise fitness classes, which are aimed at those for whom regular exercise classes are too much, in Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill.

Paracise classes were developed by Sarah Goldsack, a fitness instructor who was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. Working with a physiotherapist, Sarah created classes which offer exercise to everyone.

The classes are low impact and gentle on the joints, ideal for people who haven’t exercised for a long time, are coming back from injury, or have health conditions.

Sadie decided to host a week of Reindeer Fun challenges, with all proceeds being donated to Chestnut Tree House.

She said: “A great time was had by all and the group managed to raise £185.”
