Health champions to launch free cooking courses

Social enterprise company Health Champions is launching free '˜Cooking for Health' courses in the Chichester area in the New Year in an effort to halt rising levels of diabetes and obesity.

The courses, funded by Chichester Wellbeing, kick off on January 12 with two sessions at 10.30am-12.30 or 12.30-2.30pm at Selsey Town Council, High Street, Selsey, with further courses starting on January 23 at Swanfield Community Centre, Swanfield Drive, Chichester, either at 10.30am – 12.30 or from 1 to 3pm.

The sessions are aimed at preventing people developing diabetes and other weight-related conditions, through eating healthily and cutting down on portion size. They will be overseen by registered dietitian and Health Champions director Denise Kennedy.
