HEALTH RISK AT SEASIDE 'REC'

Lewes District Council has been forced to carry out a "dog mess pick" on one of its recreation grounds in Seaford.

The recreation ground, off Walmer Road, had become so badly covered in dogs mess that it was becoming a real health risk for football teams using the pitches. The mess was also making the area very unpleasant for children and the majority of responsible dog walkers.

The unenviable task of picking up the mess fell on the Council's grounds maintenance contractor, Wyevale Landscapes Ltd.

In total, four dustbin bags of dogs mess were collected.

There are three dog bins on the site.
