Health walk joined by royal visitors...

FRIDAY'S regular health walk took a regal turn when some special guests joined the club for a St George's Day stroll.

Henry VIII and Elizabeth I joined chairman of Rother District Council Martin Mooney and 40 other walkers decked out in red and white.

The royal couple, played by John Hunnisett, 70, and his wife Carol, both of Sutherland Avenue, were not the only walkers in costume, perhaps tempted by DiPaulo's offer of free coffee for those who made the effort to dress up.

Organiser Sandy Melvin said plenty of people dressed in flags, making "a colourful crowd".

She added: "Some walkers had come from Curves, the ladies gym in Sackville Road, where they were encouraged to wear red and white, have a work-out and then join the walk."

The Health Walk meets at the Colonnade every Friday at 11am.
