‘Heartbreak’ for family following Christmas theft

A FAMILY’S Christmas was ruined after thieves broke into their garage and stole nearly £500 worth of food.

Margaret and Bernard Edwards, of Wembley Avenue, Lancing, woke up on Christmas Eve to find the freezer in their garage had been ransacked.

Margaret, 56, said: “It was very heartbreaking for me, it ruined our Christmas dinner.

“The only thing they left down there were four loaves of bread and ice cubes. They dropped all my fruit everywhere, all over the floor – nearly £500 worth of food was stolen.

“On Christmas Eve I couldn’t sleep, every time I heard a noise I thought, what’s going on? I couldn’t enjoy Christmas properly.”

Bernard, 68, added: “I think it’s disgusting they have got away with it.”
