COFFEE POT: Is each Monday morning from 8.45am to 10.30am in The Space at All Saints Church during term time. For parents, grandparents or carers with children attending ASSR Primary School, providing opportunities for chat, papers and magazines, with a children’s area available. Car parking facilities for Coffee Pot users in the Cricket Club Car Park.

PARISH PRAYER MEETING: A new Parish Prayer Meeting will be commencing tomorrow, Saturday, at 9am on alternative Saturday mornings. Designed for members of All Saints’ and St George’s Churches together and will take place in the Parish Room, Broad Oak.

FARMERS MARKET: The Heathfield Farmers Market has been selected as a finalist in the Sussex Farmers Market of the Year category, Sussex Food and Drink Awards 2017. We were nominated and a panel of expert judges agreed that it was worthy of being a finalist in these prestigious awards, which are now in their eleventh year.

GARDENER’S QUESTION TIME: A Gardener’s Question Time evening is being held on Thursday September 22 at 7.30pm. Four local professional horticulturalists will answer questions from the floor. They include David Honeysett (Cade Street Nursery), Steven Moore (Rapkyns Nursery), Mark Piper (Sussex Fruit Trees) and Freddie Cottingham (Garden Design/Landscaping). The chairperson for the evening will be Vicki Colne a trustee of FASCOH (Friends of All Saints’ Old Heathfield) who are staging the event at The Space, All Saints’ Church, Old Heathfield. Tickets are £5 in advance from Jean Barnes 01435 863784 or Cade Street Nursery or Rapkyns Nursery. Tea and coffee available.

SATURDAY PRAYERS: These user-friendly, half-hour programmes have been designed for members of All Saints’ and St George’s Churches together, and will be held in the Parish Room at Broad Oak. Commencing tomorrow, Saturday, at 9am they will alternate on second and fourth Saturday mornings. Local people within the parish who have a faith but attend other places of worship are warmly invited to join with the Anglican community in the parish on these occasions. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available following the prayer time.

ASHDOWN FOREST POULTRY CLUB: Ashdown Forest Poultry Club has been based in Heathfield since 1978 and holds shows and meetings regularly in the Goward Hall at Cade Street. Our next meeting is on Tuesday September 20 at 8pm, when we have Fiona Browne back by popular request. Fiona will present the latest new range of incubators from the famous Brinsea range. Keeping chickens in the garden is the fastest growing hobby in the UK, and Ashdown Forest Poultry Club gives advice and practical help to local chicken enthusiasts at all levels, from young children to pensioners, and from the absolute beginner to the experienced fancier trying to locate a rare breed.
