VISITORS were not the only ones to benefit from this year’s Heathfield Show. In line with their principles, organisers of the show donated proceeds to local charities last week.

The Society is a not-for-profit organisation aimed at benefiting the community. The presentation at the Merrie Harriers in Cowbeech gave much-needed funds to local groups which helped run the show on May 26.

They were Broad Oak and Horam Football Club, Broad Oak Pre-School Group, Broad Oak PTA, Broad Oak and Punnetts Town Scouts, Burwash Scouts, Heathfield and Horam Friends of Cancer Research, Heathfield and Waldron Rugby Club, Horam Scouts and Horam Guides, St George’s Church, Broad Oak and Tonbridge Juddians.

Over £16,000 was donated to say thank-you for fielding teams of ground stewards. Help from these teams is essential the valued by the Society on Show day. If any local organisations would like to help next year in exchange for donations contact Show Secretary Nicola Magill on: 01435 864587.
