CHURCH EVENTS: The festive season starts with the making of Christingles with other fun thrown in at Hellingly Church tomorrow, Saturday, at 1pm. Then on Sunday at 10.45am is the Christingle Service at Hellingly Church. The following Saturday, December 10, at 7pm Wealden Brass Concert will be performing at Hellingly Church. The rest of the services leading up to and including Christmas Day will be published week by week.

CHRISTMAS PARTY NIGHTS: Blackstock Country estate, Grove Hill invites you to a three course meal, surrounded by Festive décor and dancing the night away to follow with licensed bar on Friday or Saturday, December 16 or 17. CAROLS AT STARBUCKS: Go along to the Starbucks at Boship roundabout on Saturday December 10 at 2pm for some carol singing by the Hellingly church choir.

SCALEXTRIC CLUB: Go along and try a bit of bridge racing on the tracks at Emmanuel church hall on Hawkswood Road (Nr Horsebridge opposite the shopping parade) tomorrow, Saturday. This is a bit of bonding time for Dads and their children aged 7 years and over. Starts at 7pm and to take part just costs £1. Just come along or if you want more information contact Tony on 849023. The club runs on the first Saturday of each month.

CHRISTMAS FAIR: Arlington village hall plays host to a festive Christmas fair and market next Saturday December 10 (not December 19 as published in the Dicker Links) from 2pm to 6pm. The event is in aid of St Pancras Church. Featuring Seaford Silver Band from 4pm to 6pm, Carols and Lighting of the Christmas Tree at 5pm. There will be plenty of Christmas gifts and goodies, mulled wine, refreshments, real ale bar provided by the Long Man Brewery, Christmas raffle when you can win a Bluebell Farm Christmas turkey, Christmas Hamper, Magnum of champagne and many other great prizes.

DICKER LEGENDS CABARET: Only one week to go and there are a few tickets still available for this popular annual show at the Hailsham Pavilion on December 9 and 10 at 7.45pm for adults only. This year so many great celebrities have died that this show is very much a tribute to them, hence the Legends tag and is probably the funniest live show you’re ever likely to see. DICKER CHRISTMAS FESTIVAL: Dates for your diaries: Nine Lessons and Carols Sunday December 11, 6.30pm Holy Trinity Church. Carols on the Green’ followed by Santa and mulled wine at The Village Shop, Upper Dicker Monday December 12 at 6pm. Christmas Coffee Morning cake and mince pies Thursday December 15 from 10.30am to noon. Also on December 15 at 7.30pm possible open mic evening.
