INDOOR MARKET: Sunday, Boship Lions Hotel.

PARISH COUNCIL: Five members of the public were present in part. County Councillor Laurence Keeley spoke to the council about his concern in relation to the amount of housing proposed for the area and the lack of infrastructure improvements, he handed out a leaflet that he had prepared.

HORSEBRIDGE POST OFFICE: The parish council had applied to WDC to have the Lower Horsebridge Post Office added to the list of Assets of Community Value. WDC had upheld the request and added it to the list. The chairman had been notified that the owners of the post office would be submitting an appeal to WDC, as they believed that the post office was a service and not the building. They had approached the chairman to see if the council was willing to buy the post office. The council was not in a position to purchase the building so it was agreed that the council would write a letter to WDC in support of their appeal.

RUGBY CLUB: Request from the Rugby Club; parish council were informed that over the last four or five years the rugby club had lost three months of playing on the pitch due to flooding. Council agreed that the proposed drainage works at the Lower Horsebridge Recreation Ground would be a big improvement to the ground and therefore were happy for the rugby club to carry out the feasibility study. It was however noted that this would mean that additional maintenance work would need to be carried out by the council in the future.

CHURCH SERVICES: On June 23 at 9.30am there will be Holy Communion with the MU at Hellingly.

DICKER DAY: On Sunday June 26, 1pm to 7pm the churches will be supporting the Dicker Day celebrations by running the cake stall, serving strawberries and cream, providing a prayer space and leading a short Songs of Praise at 5pm. There will be lots of games and activities for all the family music playing and food and drink available throughout the afternoon. Do come along to the Dicker Village Hall and join in the fun. HEALING: From this month and on the first Sunday of each month Hellingly church is offering prayer for healing in the main 10.45am service at Hellingly for those who would like it. Having received Communion as you return to your seat you can go into the Lady Chapel where two of the team will be sitting. You can either say briefly the specific thing you want prayer for or just ask for prayer. A simple prayer is offered and you can then return to your place. If someone is already being prayed for just wait until they have gone before taking a seat. All of us need prayer at various times in varying degrees and in this simple act we are offering the need to God, whatever it may be, and leave the rest to him.
