HELLINGLY PARKS: Hellingly Country and Roebuck Parks. At the April PC meeting the draft minutes state that four Active Play sessions took place over the Easter holidays. The Council were asked whether they would wish to provide any sessions in the May half-term holiday. The cost per 1.5 hour session is Â£43.13. The transfer had still not taken place and Persimmon have asked for an additional covenant to be written into the transfer deed. The cricket pavilion has been entered into the Sussex Heritage Awards. Sussex Landscape Services (SLS) have been selected as the successful contractor to undertake the grounds maintenance works at the Park. They will be ready to start as soon as the transfer has taken place.

REGULAR CHURCH SERVICES: Regular services are: Sundays, 8am Holy Communion Hellingly, 9.15am Holy Communion, Upper Dicker, 10.45 am Holy Communion or Family Service on fourth Sunday, Hellingly; Thursdays, 9.30am BCP Holy Communion at Hellingly.

LUNCH AT DICKER HALL: A light luncheon was held to advise some long standing (30 years plus) residents of the History Exhibition being presented as part of the Dicker Day Festivities on June 26. They were invited to contribute to the story of Dicker and talking on a one to one basis to gather information to present profiles of their life in the village. Many agreed, and interviews have started. They are being undertaken mostly by Vicky Radtke with Jenny Turland filling in where Vicky can’t make it. All 17 who came said they thoroughly enjoyed the gathering. We hope to encourage more to join in between now and the end of May.

MICHELHAM PRIORY: Forthcoming events are as follows: Saturday May 14, National Mills Weekend; Monday May 23, Garden Tour; Saturday May 28, Michelham Bowmen Living History Camp and Archery Competition; Saturday June 18, World War II Weekend. ARLINGTON BLUEBELL WALK: Over the weekend of April 19 and 20 funds were raised in aid of Holy Trinity Church and Dicker Village Hall. They were really lucky with the weather and on April 20 the sun shone and over 750 people visited the woods which is a record for a week day. Thanks are offered to all the helpers. Just over £2100 was raised.
