SPRINGTIME SERENADE: A music extravaganza and fun with the U3A choir, members and friends of Hellingly church is at 7.30pm at Hellingly Church tomorrow, Saturday. Tickets are £7 on the door or advance booking on 841685.

500 YEAR COMMUNION: The church on the Michelham Priory site was destroyed during Henry VIIIs reign 480 years ago. Now, over the Medieval Living Weekend and almost 500 years on Hellingly and Upper Dicker Churches plan to have an open air communion service on Sunday 29 May on the site where that church once stood. Starts at 11am. All welcome.

GARDEN TOUR: On Monday 23 May there is a 90 minute tour at Michelham Priory exploring the seven acres of historic gardens with the head gardener, James Neal. Price includes entrance to the house & grounds, tour and soup & fresh bread roll in the café. Tour starts at 11am. £16 for Non-members, £11 for Sussex Archaeological Society Members and Friends of Michelham Priory. Numbers are limited so please book in advance. MICHELHAM BOWMEN & LIVING HISTORY: All weekend from Saturday 28 to Monday 30 The Michelham Bowmen and Living History camp will be at Michelham Priory. With archery for registered bowmen members only and have a go archery for non members on the Southern Lawns. 10.30am to 5pm.

1950’s PARTY: To celebrate the Queen’s 90th Official Birthday on 11th June there is a 1950s party at 7pm at Arlington Village Hall. This is a joint Upper Dicker and Arlington event. Ticket price to cover overall expenses only. 50’s dress with prizes. Cold buffet - bring and share (details when you book your ticket) and please bring your own drink. Music both live and recorded. BLUEBELL TRAIL: Phiippa Vine owner of Bluebell Farm shop tells me that over 22,000 people visited the Bluebell and Farm Trail this year which is amazing in itself. Almost Every day a different charity benefitted from running the event and on fine days each earned thousands of pounds for local charities. Amazing. I know I enjoyed investing in a season ticket as always and was able to watch the bluebell’s progress throughut their season. Lovely.
