A TEENAGE GIRL who has fought off two boughts of serious cancer and was given support by a Polegate charity has asked residents to support a humble jumble sale - to helping thousands of other children suffering from the evil disease.
Hannah Riddle, aged 17, from East Dean Road in Old Town, Eastbourne, was disagnosed with Hogkin’s disease at the age of 12 – fought it with chemotherapy – and then was diagnosed again 18 months later before more chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
The Sussex Downs College student, who is studying catering and hospitality, was given the all-clear three years ago but is still routinely checked every six months.
Hannah’s Coffee morning takes place from 10am until 12pm at East Dean Village Hall on April 23.
There will be cakes, books, a tombola, plants, bric-a-brac and a raffle. Entrance costs £1 which includes a hot cross bun, and tea and coffee. All proceeds will go to The Children With Cancer Fund and Royal Marsden Hospital.
