Helping hand for hampers

Volunteers are urgently needed to pack Christmas hampers for Bexhill Caring Community next week.

The charity is appealing for helpers to turn up on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (December 8-10) in the community room behind the Caring Community office in Sackville Road. Packing will take place between 10am-3pm on those days.

There is also an appeal for people to help with deliveries from Thursday onwards.

Manager Martin Turner said: “Every year Bexhill Caring Community sends out around 200 hampers and plants to residents of Bexhill.

“If you know of anyone who you think would benefit from a hamper, or someone who is recently bereaved, or lonely, and would appreciate a plant please let us know before December 8 so that they can be added to the list.

“Our thanks to all the Schools, Churches, organisations, businesses and residents who have so generously supported our Christmas Campaign.

He also thanked the Co-op in Western Road which has supported the campaign by providing mince pies and coffee.
