Helping hand needed to support Littlehampton’s homeless

VOLUNTEERS from Littlehampton are being sought to help with the launch of a new charity shop designed to support needy homeless people in the area.

Worthing Churches Homeless Projects will be opening its new fundraising store in High Street in the next few months.

Louise Brooks, community trust and statutory fundraiser with the group, said the store would be helping a range of initiatives designed to get homeless people in the town off the streets and back onto their feet.

She said: “We have taken over from HOMElink as it has closed down. So we have taken over running their breakfast club – which we are also appealing for new volunteers for.

“We’re supporting people to fund accommodation in the Littlehampton area who are homeless.

“The work the charity shop does will be a vital part of this support network.”

Volunteers in the shop would help with its daily running while those keen to support the breakfast club would assist with cooking and serving breakfast to homeless people in the Littlehampton area.
