Henfield Neighbourhood Plan referendum cancelled

The referendum, which was due to take place tomorrow (Tuesday September 22) has been cancelled after concerns were raised by members of the community.

The concern regards the allocation of land at Setyres in the High Street, which is currently a commercial site. The site has been changed from a housing site allocation to a mixed use site allocation.

After much consideration, Horsham District Council and Henfield Parish Council have decided to postpone the referendum to enable more residents to have the opportunity to comment on this proposed change.

Any comments that are received will go back to the examiner who will re-examine this point and then re-issue her report.

It is not thought that the postponement of the referendum will cause a significant delay to the adoption of the plan.

All postal votes received remain unopened and will be confidentially destroyed. Everyone in Henfield parish with a permanent postal vote will receive one automatically once the referendum is reorganised.
