REID HALL RENOVATION: The Trustees of the Reid Hall Boreham Street are delighted to report that their bid for funding from The Wealden Community Grants Programme 2016/17 resulted in an £8000 grant towards much needed repairs and renovations at the Village Hall. Together with a further £750 from the parish council and a donation of £500 from a local fund, the committee are now well on their way with plans to future proof this excellent and affordable village facility for present and future generations of hirers. Well done everyone involved.

QUEEN’S 90TH BIRTHDAY: Many Happy Returns Ma’am. Wartling and Boreham Street commemorated the Queens 90th birthday by lighting an official beacon in the garden at The Bulls Head with a village barbecue. The beacon was kindly lit by Alan Ticehurst, who like the Queen is in his 90th year and a resident of Boreham Street. Harvey’s Brewery, Burt’s Butchers and landlord Mike Corfield sponsored the event, all run by volunteers and all the proceeds will add with the Grand Summer Fair taking place on Sunday July 17 in Boreham Street an annual event raising funds for local good causes. Thank you to everyone who helped to make the fun evening such a success and especially to Hazel for the great music. Date for your diary.
