Herstmonceux & Wartling

THE WINDMILL: The windmill at Windmill Hill is now fully restored and able to grind flour using the power of the wind for the first time in 120 years. This could not have been achieved without the help of the many supporters and volunteers and, to say thank you, they are holding a celebratory event and official opening on Saturday 14 May. The event will run from noon until 3pm with the opening ceremony, to be conducted by James Braxton, taking place at 12.30pm. Following the ceremony there will be guided tours of the windmill. Drinks and light refreshments will be available. We are asking people to arrive by 12.15pm for the opening ceremony at 12.30pm.

RAY AND SHELDON: The next meeting is on Friday April 8 when Recycled will be entertaining members. Go along at 2pm to the village hall for a fun afternoon. Enquiries to Anne 01323 441244.

CHILDREN’S ART COMPETITION: The Very Hungry Caterpillar is the theme for this Easter’s art competition for children ages 2 to 7 years and 8 to 12 years. Colour in or draw a picture of The Very Hungry Caterpillar and you could win one of two bug-inspired prizes. Please as in the Lime Cross Nursery shop for full details.
