PARISH COUNCIL: Herstmonceux Parish Council is continuing the preparation of a Neighbourhood Plan for Herstmonceux Parish: The vision is for a community actively planning for its future, meeting the changing needs of a vibrant community and preserving the distinctive rural characteristics of the parish. A new Steering Group of parish councillors has been set up and the aim is to complete the Plan by December 2016. The Plan will contain policies which will reflect the wishes of the community for the future of the parish. The survey is part of the process of the Plan to allow all residents an opportunity to contribute to the Plan. Please take this opportunity to make your comments by completing the survey and returning it to the parish office in the enclosed envelope or dropping it in to one of the collection points at The Parish Office, 4 The Old Forge, Gardner Street, Herstmonceux BN27 4LG; the Village Information Centre; The Health Centre; The Woolpack Inn; The Brewers Arms; The Merrie Harriers, Cowbeech; Curtis and Shaw Cowbeech; The Post Office at Windmill Hill; The Office, Orchard View Park, Windmill Hill. After the survey the responses of the survey will be analysed by Action in rural Sussex and the outcome will be presented at the Annual Parish Meeting held at 8pm on March 21 in the small hall in Herstmonceux Village Hall. There will be the opportunity at the meeting to make further comments on the progress of the plan. The Survey Consultation runs until March 5. Thank you.

SUNDAY WALKS: This Sunday meet at 10am at Herstmonceux car park. Andy 833040 and Karen will be leading a walk at Rye Harbour and Scallop Festival.

HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY: The Windmill Hill branch holds all its events at Reid Hall, Boreham Street (unless otherwise stated). All Welcome. Doors Open at 7pm for a 7pm start. Entrance £1. Free parking. On Thursday there will be a talk entitled The Windmill’s Story by Bee Frost from the Windmill Hill Windmill Trust.
