Historic Ice House up for auction

AN HISTORIC building and part of the fishermen's history in Hastings is to be sold at auction for more than £100,000.

The Ice House, on Rock-A-Nore Road, is being sold, freehold, at the Fox & Sons auction in Hove next month - and may become flats.

The auctioneer's catalogue said: "We consider that conversion to flats on the upper levels with retail or leisure use on the ground floor may be possible. However, interested buyers are advised to make their own enquiries about possible future planning uses."

Situated in the heart of the town's fishing industry it is believed the building was constructed as an ice store to service the fishing fleet and fish deliveries market.
