Historic property could become a restaurant in Bognor

A near 200-year-old property in an historic area of Bognor Regis could again be used as a residence.

Planning permission to change the use of 2 The Steyne from a restaurant to a three-bedroom house is being sought by Mr AC Burrows.

He has asked Arun District Council to approve the new purpose for the building. It was built as a fisherman's cottage around 1820 as The Steyne was being developed.

More recently, it was a shop before it became a restaurant with living accommodation above.

Arun granted planning permission for a conversion into a three-bedroom house but the owner received an offer from a potential restaurant tenant before the work was completed.
