History group kicks off with first session

History is the subject of a new group for older people being set up in Bognor Regis.

The sessions to bring the past to life will take place on the last Monday afternoon of each month. The first will be at 2.30pm on February 23.

Its topic will be Henry VIII and why he changed the future of England. Future topics will be chosen by members of the group.

They could reflect their interests in a specific era or a character for which someone has a particular passion.

But they will all be guaranteed to provide the chance to get together, learn together and see how fascinating history can be.

The initial meetings of the group, being formed by the Arun Neighbourhood Network, will take place at the 4Sight Bradbury Centre at 36 Victoria Drive.

They will last about two hours. A 20p charge will cover hot drinks and biscuits. Contact Shirley Buck on 07754 101 915 to find our more or go along to the first meeting.
