History Society set to welcome archaeologist to next meeting

After a great start to the New Year with Janet Pennington's talk on the History of the Adur Valley, Beeding and Bramber Local History Society will be welcoming archaeologist Simon Stevens to their next meeting.

On Wednesday February 3 at 7.45 pm in the Village Hall, High Street, Upper Beeding, Simon will be telling us about ‘The Stiances Archaeology Project - Working with Children and Animals’, a project that involves the children from a Primary School (all 230-odd of them) in a dig on a site near the school - a demolished set of medieval and post-medieval farm buildings with some Mesolithic material thrown in for good measure.

As there is a saying: “Never work with children and animals”, we are probably in for an amusing and enlightening evening. Non-members are welcome for an admission charge of £2.
