Hollywood event comes to Bognor

A RED carpet, a fast car and even a bond girl will be there as Bognor Regis hosts a movie premiere fit for Hollywood.

All eyes will be on the town’s Picturedrome as it hosts an eve-of-general release charity screening of the eagerly-awaited James Bond movie, Skyfall, next Thursday.

Event spokeswoman Zanny Gilchrist said: “This will be the only pre-screening of the new movie in Sussex before it opens in cinemas across the country the next day. All proceeds are going to the West Sussex branch of Winston’s Wish.”

The red-carpet evening starts at 6pm, attended by the former Golden Eye Bond girl, Serena Gordon, who appeared alongside Pierce Brosnan.

Skyfall co-writer Rob Wade is also attending the evening.The screening will be followed by a Q&A session with Serena and Rob. An Aston Martin will also roll up at the Canada Grove venue.

Susan Tait, from the charity, said: “Winston’s Wish is honoured to have been chosen as the charity to benefit from this hugely exciting and exclusive pre-general release screening. With everyone dressing up in true James Bond style and entering the cinema along a red carpet, it should be a very atmospheric and memorable evening.”
