Holmbush opens for one day only

Two very special gardens will be opening their doors to the public for one day only this weekend.

The gardens of Holmbush along with the various plants and trees on display in the grounds of Holmbush House will be on open for visitors to come down and explore on Sunday May 10.

Both the gardens and grounds are only open one day each year and members of the public are being invited down view these hidden wonders to get them into the summer spirit and give people a few ideas on how they could add to their own gardens.

As well as viewing the wonderful flowers and beautiful shrubbery on display members of the public will also be able to enjoy a warm cup of home made tea.

An Irish band will be playing throughout the day and visitors will also get the chance to browse and buy plants for various stalls.

Holmbush gardens play host to a collection of ‘Garden Rooms’ some formal and some more natural, all filled with a bounty of rare plants and shrubbery.

The grounds of Holmbush House extend for several acres and include woodlands, lawns and rose gardens which have been restored to their former glory over the past 15 years.

There are now an array of rhododendrons, bluebells and azaleas on display along with a collection of trees including Redwoods and the largest weeping beech trees in Sussex as well as plenty of grass terraces.

The house and gardens will be open at 1pm (not 10am as previously stated) and are located on the A264 just past Holmbush Farm.
