Homeowner assaulted during late-night Hastings robbery

A man was hit in the face as four robbers entered his Hastings home and stole two iPhones, according to police.

At about 11.30pm on Saturday, May 7, there was a knock at the door at an address in The Bourne.

When the 48-year-old woman opened the door, four men entered wearing balaclavas.

One of them struck the 52-year-old man who lives there in the face, and they stole two iPhones.

One of the suspects is described as white, in his late twenties, 5’8” and of average build with short black hair.

He was wearing a black hooded top and blue jeans.

One of the men was in black clothing, 5’10”-6’ and of slim build.

The men, who were all wearing black gloves, ran off towards Bourne Passage.

Detective Constable Chloe Barden said: “The Bourne is quite a busy main road in and out of Hastings and I am keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a group of men walking towards or running away from the area, wearing mainly black clothing.

“If you can help please contact us via [email protected] or call us on 101 quoting serial 1752 of 07/05.”
