Homes under threat

UNLESS action is taken along the West Sussex coastline, the current risk of 530 properties flooding or being lost to erosion could increase to 3,1024, the Environment Agency has warned.

On Monday it unveiled a new draft strategy to manage flood and erosion risks to homes and property along part of the worst affected part of the coastline '“ along the Arun to Pagham stretch.

With the climate changing, sea levels rising and more frequent and intense storms, flood defences are under increasing threat from the elements.
