STAFF at a village pre-school want to say a big thank-you to everyone who helped support them throughout 2011.
Leigh Ellen Inglis from Horam Community Pre-School said: “This has been an exciting year with a significant increase in two- year-olds and fantastic fundraising. We are pleased to announce our Christmas events raised a total of £1,625.
“Firstly, we would like to repeat that without fundraising the pre-school would not be able to continue and the management committee, who are all volunteers, believe this is a valuable resource in the village and one not to be lost.
“Secondly, we would like to thank all the county’s businesses who donated gifts and throughout the year and especially for our Christmas draw. Thirdly, thank to you to parents, friends and family and the wider community who come along to our events and the Christmas Draw – over 1,000 books were sold.”
Leigh Ellen commented on the OFSTED ‘Good’ rating which, she said, is testament to hard work and commitment from staff and volunteers who enhance the children’s learning experience.”
In 2012 events will include jumble sales in February and October, a family quiz and BBQ in April, golf day in May and a car treasure hunt in June.
In July they will run the bar at the Horam Fun Day and their traditional Christmas Fayre will be in November - a community event for everyone including stalls for gifts and produce with homemade refreshments.
