Martin Robertson uses the allotment regularly and had two sheds broken into.

He said: “I am annoyed and frustrated really. I got a phone call yesterday at one o’clock saying six sheds have been broken into.

“It wasn’t until three o’clock last night before I got to sleep I was so annoyed.

“I spent a lot of my time up there and found it was a place of relaxation. I am now thinking is it worth it? Is everything going to be there when I get back? Will anything be damaged?

“I am thinking of knocking it on the head and that was my place of peace and tranquillity.”

Police have provided advice to allotment holders about enhancing safety and are also appealing for witness to the incident.
