Horsham artist takes third place against strong competition

A young painter from Horsham has claimed third place in a competition against more than 40 international artists.

Kristina Gresham, who is studying at Collyer’s, took part in a competition t0 design ‘Tour’ - the programme for Glyndebourne Touring Opera. The theme was Puccini’s Madama Butterfly. Her painting, Un Bel Di, shows Butterfly dreaming of Pinkerton returning. Like the aria it is named after, the painting evokes a sense of yearning. It is currently on display at Glyndebourne.
