Horsham District Council staff join county council colleagues in new office

All council services in Horsham will now be based in the Parkside offices, within County Hall North in North Street.

It is believed to be one of the first co-locations between a district and county council in the UK.

Ray Dawe, leader of HDC, and Louise Goldsmith, leader of WSCC, declared the move complete on Friday June 26 by ceremoniously cutting a ribbon across the new reception area.

Mrs Goldsmith said: “This is a perfect example of what can be achieved by working in partnership.

“We’re delighted that Parkside is now home to Horsham District Council as well as West Sussex County Council. Joining forces like this and sharing facilities provides a better service for our residents who will now be able to find district and county council services housed under one roof.”

Mr Dawe said: “The Parkside location provides much better modern facilities for our staff and for the public giving them a single point of access to their council services.

“We are really pleased that the move has gone so well.

“It forms a major part of the district council’s Business Transformation Programme which is modernising many of our working practices and giving us considerable cost savings while providing the public with all the same quality frontline services.”
