Horsham FC reveals revised plans for ground at Hop Oast

Eighteen months ago the previous plan for a ground at Hop Oast was rejected by Horsham District Council.

The club, which was recently promoted, has been without a home since 2008 and was refused permission for two different sites, including Hop Oast and the Holbrook Club.

Together with a new development partner, Dorking-based Reside Developments, the club is now promoting a revised design for the site, taking into account the concerns raised from the previous application, including a smaller, more sympathetically designed club house and lower floodlights and stands.

Director at Horsham FC John Lines said this week: “This really is the last chance for the club to find a new home.

“We have searched long and hard for an alternative site but the Hop Oast site is the only option which will secure the club’s future as a successful semi-professional football club.

“We’re fully committed to working with the community to make this happen in a way which benefits everyone.”

The club will also be seeking permission for an enabling development of 58 homes on two of the current pitches at the Holbrook Club.

The intention would be to retain the existing Holbrook Club facilities for the future.
