The event will host a number of activities in at least three areas of the town, celebrating a different 20-year period of HM’s reign.

Horsham town will be filled with period vehicles, music, dance, art, photography, tea and cake stalls, as well as a royal sized tea party.

In the evening there will be the lighting of a Jubilee Beacon in Horsham Park to join up with a proposed nationwide chain of more than 2,000 beacons to mark this one-off special event.

After coming to the throne on February 6 1952, the queen’s coronation took place on June 2 1953 and she celebrated her Silver Jubilee (25 years) in 1977 and her Golden Jubilee (50 years) in 2002.
