Lion Tom George, chairman of The Youth Project Committee, said: “The Lions appreciate that many young people are having financial problems in the current economic climate, and they would like to help them achieve their dreams and move forward with their chosen careers.

“Applicants must reside, and organisations must operate, within the Horsham area. Grants will not be available for normal expenses in running an organisation. Decisions on grants will be made in September, and presentation to successful applicants will take place in October.

The Lions support a wide range of initiatives that support he community.

He added: “The Lions is a service organisation so we support any service to the community. It depends on what sort of requests we get.
