OUTRAGED customers of Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre will protest this afternoon in a bid to save their much-loved club from demolition.

Horsham District Council’s cabinet will be met by angry members of the public as they arrive for a meeting to discuss the club’s future.

Plans to close and demolish Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre were this week described as a ‘golden opportunity’ by the leader of Horsham District Council Robert Nye.

Despite mounting public opposition, Mr Nye said the scheme offered the potential to release considerable cash to upgrade and improve leisure facilities across the whole district while providing a significant and ongoing annual income of perhaps £1.5m to the benefit of all council tax payers.

Updates will follow this evening. For a full report on the latest Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre developments pick your copy of today’s West Sussex County Times.
