Horsham road cordoned off after reports of gas leak

Three fire engines from Horsham and Crawley attended the scene in Foundry Lane, along with a breathing apparatus support unit and incident command unit.

An ambulance crew also attened when the alert was sounded just before 6am.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “Gas monitors were used whilst a cordon was put in place, and crews wearing breathing apparatus were able to isolate the valves.

“The police and ambulance were also in attendance and multi-agency arrangements ensured that members of the public remained safe throughout.”

Crews left the scene at around 7.45am.
